01OpenCart API integration: start with the data contract
A connector needs agreed rules for product identifiers, prices, stock, orders and status changes. We establish which system owns each field, what triggers an update and how duplicate requests are handled.
API access, sample responses and rate limits help establish the scope before development. We also review authentication, timeouts, logging and how a failed exchange can be retried without creating duplicate orders.

Your store may need product data from a supplier, order transfer to an ERP or a shipping connection. Each workflow has different timing and validation requirements. Scheduled feeds and live API calls should be chosen around the systems involved.
The official InPost OpenCart module is an example of our integration work. We link to that project so you can explore a real implementation rather than a generic list of possible APIs.

We consider missing fields, changed supplier data, timeouts and repeated callbacks as well as a normal transaction. The aim is to make failures visible and provide a practical recovery path.
Before release, we agree test cases, access permissions and the responsibility for maintaining the connection when a third-party API changes.
